Carvin's HD & DCM Series light weight power amps deliver RMS power that makes the difference with transparently cleaner highs, punchier bass and natural sounding mids. Each amp is Audio Precision™ tested to meet all specs, which includes a burn-in under full load to assure reliability and performance. Typical customer comments are: "every kick drum beat is distinct", "delivers continuous 2 ohm power", "more power - RMS rated, not peak", "cool running - no over-heating in direct sun", & "requires less AC power from the wall". Try a Carvin HD or DCM power amp to see - and hear - for yourself what so many sound professionals already know: USA-made quality, superior sound, and a factory-direct price that can't be beat add up to an amplifier that will be the backbone of your sound for years to come.
Carvin Power Amp Features The concert stage is the ultimate test for any amplifier, and Carvin power amps have made their mark serving top artists and concert venues for years. Rugged enough for touring and ideal for fixed installations, you can expect years of service from these proven American-made workhorses. All models are bridgeable, and have premium features including large heat sinks, Switchmode power supplies and lightweight aluminum main frames - no plastic panels. Backed by a solid until 3 year warranty.
RMS HEADROOM Power is rated in RMS, not peak. Higher headroom comes from higher device voltages and the 80,000 Hz Switchmode power supply. Carvin's kick drum test reveals that full RMS power is delivered into the most demanding loads.
High efficiency heat transfer from 6063-T5 large aluminum heat sinks offer the most advanced cooling, which is one of the keys to reliable, continuous 2 ohm power. Some competitors use less efficient methods such as fans to blow over circuit cards instead of utilizing large heat sinks.
Carvin Power Amp Kick Drum Test KICK DRUM TEST The kick drum test demonstrates in Chart #3 (right) that other lightweight amps will deliver full power for the 1st kick of 20mSec. However, when the 2nd kick comes there is sag in the voltage/current and the amps will not reproduce the full kick. If you look at Chart #2, you'll see that Carvin power amps maintain their linear power supply output for reserve voltage/current, faithfully reproducing the full 2nd beat.
